Odin, Wotan, Godin, Or Woden, He Was Far More Real Than Most People Think.
Most hear his name, and think he's just a mythical figure, but there are far too many accounts of a King with one of his many names.
The Young King.
The God we know as Odin, was the son of Bor, according to the Prose Edda. He also had two brothers named Vili and Ve. His father Bor married his mother Bestla, she was one of the children of the first frost giants. Not much else other than this is mentioned about Odin’s parents in the literature. Odin himself however there is much more written about, and it's coming from multiple different sources. We know that Odin was the third generation of his family to rule Asgard, and watch over the realms of men in Midgard. The first generation was his Grandfather Buri, and the second was Odin’s Father Bor. Odin and his brothers being the third generation. He ruled these 2 realms along with the other 7, in an eternal attempt at keeping the peace of all 9 realms. He held them until Ragnarok happened, in which he died. He was survived by 4 of his sons, Baldur, Hodr, Vidar, and Vali, along with his 2 grandsons Magni, and Modi, who were Thor’s sons. That is his role in the Eddas, which were written by Snorri Sturluson. However in a few historical texts, he is mentioned as an actual King in Pre-Christian Europe. Specifically as one of the founders of the English (Windsor) royal houses.
The Following is a quoted excerpt from “The United Church of God website, Appendix 10: The Family of Odin.”
The explorer Thor Heyerdahl was not the first person who delved deep into the research on this topic, or who has come to that conclusion. His work however went much further into it than his predecessors ever did. He found evidence that pointed him to the area around the Black Sea, where he came to the conclusion that Azov, on the coast of the Black Sea, and further north into the Caucus mountains in Azerbaijan, was the place of his Origin. These would have been (Turkic) lands at the time.
Thor Heyerdahl’s work continues, and I quote,
“Then I remember that when I came to Gobustan, I had seen a stone slab with Roman inscriptions. I contacted the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. I was taken to the place, and I got the exact wording of the inscription. There's a very logical way of figuring out when this was written. It had to be written after the year 84 AD and before the year 97 AD. If this inscription matched Snorre's record, it would mean that Odin left for Scandinavia during the second half of the 1st century AD.
"Then I counted the members of the generations of kings, every king up to the grandfather of the king that united Norway into one kingdom, because such information is available—around 830 AD. In anthropology we reckon 25 years per generation for ruling kings. In modern times, a generation may extend up to 30 years, but on average the length of a generation in early reigns is 25 years. When you multiply 31 generations by 25 years, you come exactly back to the second half of the 1st century AD. So there is proof that these inscriptions carved by the Romans in stone coincide with the written history written almost 800 years ago in Iceland" ("Scandinavian Ancestry," Azerbaijan International ).”
Heyerdahl’s conclusion was that almost all of the European Noble houses had a common ancestor, and it was none other than Odin himself (Although he had a different name). This was deduced from far more than just the stone carvings, paintings, and literature. He also traced the trail of archaeological finds, from the linguistic evidence to the technological capabilities (metal working) of these migrations. The trail led him across Europe from the Caucus mountains, through Germany and the Netherlands, and finally up into Norway, and Sweden.
I have long held these same belief, that as descendants of Europeans, Odin is our Ancestor, and not just a Mythical figure. Thor Heyerdahl estimates Odin’s migration out of the area of the Caucus mountains into Northern Europe happened between 47 CE and 89 CE. Migrations which were triggered by the invading Roman Forces. By the year 98 CE, when Tacitus wrote Germania, Odin was being revered, and hailed as a God among all of the Teutonic People's.
More Evidence.
There are further debates on the texts stating that Odin came to Scandinavia from “Turkic” lands. Which in the years of 47-89 CE, the area of the Caucus mountains would have been just that. This also ties the Aesir/Vanir War into the time frame. As many can deduce from time frames in historical text, Tiwaz / Tiw / Tyr was in existence along with his sons, at the Time that the Greeks were naming many of the seas, and lands around the Mediterranean. Hence the name Tyrrhenian sea. A word that means “The sons of Tyr” the name Tyr, is from the Greek / Latin pronunciation of Tiw / Tiwaz of the “Germanic” of peoples. When the conflict would have chronologically happened we have a series of localized tellings of conflicts, and the wars between the Etruscans, and Romans would have just come to an end a few years prior. Now, I say a few years, and it's actually about 300 years prior to Odin’s arrival, and that the Etrurians as the Romans called them generations later, were defeated by the Romans. Roughly around the year 264 BCE to be exact. Now, that wasn't the end of the peoples, there were hundreds of thousands of them as we can see by their massive Necropolises. There are several of them in one area of central Italy, the most well known, and possibly the largest is Tarquinia. The location of the “Tomb of the blue demon.”
Now this is where it gets funky, and out of the realm of what most people would consider to be “normal western thinking.” Odin came from Turkic lands, and it's also said in some of these migration areas, that a “Travelling Giant came and gave them a Runic alphabet.” The Gokturks were not what you would consider “Turkish” by modern standards. They were a Scythian people, similar to the Celts, as we can determine from their metal working, and linguistics, but where it gets logical and fun, is with the Runic Alphabets. The funky part is later. Specifically the three Runic alphabets would be the Etruscan Runes, the Gökturk Runes, and the Elder Futhark / Anglo Futhorc. They are all absurdly similar to each other. But… that's a bonus fact. Their metal working capabilities, and their artistic style, also match further indicating a common root.
So how does that get to Tyr, and the Aesir / Vanir war? Simple, that is happening in a land with people who had been worshipping Tyr / Tiw, and his sons. Good kings who ruled the central and northern portion of Italy for what is seemingly centuries. They are first defeated by their southern neighbors. They were forced north, into the Rhine area, and at first the remnants of their tribes are scattered. They just begin to rebuild, when a group of literal Nomadic horse lords come. They have huge herds of cattle, possibly even the elephant sized cattle called Aurochs, that they are pushing along their migration path. They clashed, and the resulting conflict in my opinion is what Snorri refers to as the Aesir / Vanir war.
Odin Was More Than A Wandering King.
When they left sons of the migrations leader (Odin) along the way, who then settled into the Rhine / Elbe area, and further North, into Denmark, and Sweden, we see the later Clans of Thor, Odin, Baldur, and Frey start to appear. The thing other that appeared simultaneously was the Runes. So these primarily Tyr worshipping folks, had clashed with the newly arrived Aesir, and after the loss their God king, Tyr formed an alliance with them.
The Aesir were giants, this is not my opinion, it is said in so many ways, and comes from many different sources. If Odin was a very well educated Gökturk leader, and we take that literally. Let's also take a look at what Gökturk means. That is surprisingly defined as being either “Blue Turks” or “Celestial Turks.” This is that funky part that I warned you about earlier. The part where it is explained that Odin is all of the things mentioned above. A wandering king, an educated metal smith and farmer, also he was an herbalist, and a linguistic scholar. Oh yeah, and he may have also been 9 feet tall, and had even bigger ancestors, some with blue skin. 😶 You know the type, massive hulking blue beasts with a tendency to eat people.
The descriptors of them are the same, no matter where on earth you hear them from. They were always large pale to blue skinned beings, with reddish colored hair. The native American Tribes on both sides of the country, from the Choctaw of Appalachia, to the Paiute of Nevada, all have tales of what I believe now are these very same beings. Given their strikingly similar and wide spread descriptions, it's hard to argue either, that they did not exist, or that they are not the same beings globally that are described in the Norse Sagas as Jotun.
The term “mud blood” may be heard today and instantly people think Harry Potter, but this reference to being “born of the earth” is actually far older. Referring to beings who have muddy brown blood, as opposed to the old English “blue blooded” folks, or more common slang nowadays like the “red blooded” Americans. The loose modern slang usage of the color of ones blood, once meant something very literal, and had completely different and arguably a much deeper meaning.
Let's get to the Gökturks, Odin’s People.
Before you point and laugh, just consider these facts. The Gökturks were not the same Muslim “Turkish” people that we think of today. Their histories, are well documented in Chinese, and Hungarian texts. Along with many of the lands between the two. But, to be honest we don't even need to go that far east in search of answers. There are accounts of Blue beings that exist right in Italy, from the same time frame, and in more modern times Blue People in the Appalachian mountains in America. Yes, real life Blue People have existed for millennia.
Let's get to the Evidence of Giants, and also Blue beings in Italy. First there is the Giant of Mont’e Prama, this tale is ancient. Then we see others like the Tombs of the Giants of Sardinia, and the giants tower. Finally there is the handful of giant tales from Messina, and other areas in Sicily. Much like the Sardinian Giants, the Messina Giants also left behind megalithic stone works, that the locals can not explain as being created otherwise. Finally we have the Tarquinian tombs, where we have the previously mentioned mural, depicting a battle between what appears to be Natives, some neighboring peoples, and a Blue Giant. From a modern perspective, it appears that some Blonde, and Brown Haired natives, all allied together and are fighting the blue demon. That is not even bringing in to accounting the Roman gods, who were also Giants, with even larger parents called Titans. Just like the main Roman God Jupiter (Greek Zeus), and the Titan Saturn, who was the larger than life counterpart to the Greek Kronos. Not only did they have record of Giants, they believed it to be so true, that their Religion revolved around them for hundreds, and maybe even thousands of years.
Giants were just bigger versions of normal people, right ?
They may have just been larger, because of the conditions of the last ice age. That one can be easily explained, but the part about being blue… As odd as it may sound, we actually have much more recent proof that they existed. This one I must admit sounds absurd and a bit off-putting. When I started reading about it, I figured it was a single case of some strange type of genetic abnormality, or perhaps even another case where there was a dietary cause for it, but I was wrong. It was nothing like the “green orphans,” otherwise known as the Green Children of Woolpit. Who had a green color to their skin from eating only one type of green vegetable for a prolonged period. I was beyond surprised to run across the Blue Fugates of Appalachia. I'm a naturally skeptical person, and always want to see proof for any silly sounding, or extremely absurd claims. To my surprise, proof is exactly what I found. Along with some ironic and dare I say tangible links, to the same origin area of the Caucus Mountains. 😃 Surprise ! 😀
I'm sure all of these links are just coincidental, and the poetic irony is just that thick. Anyways, back to the actual Blue People, these folks with the Smurf blue skin from Kentucky, didn't just eat too many blueberries. They have a genetic trait that is now well recognized that’s called methemoglobinemia. It causes a buildup of methemoglobin under the skin, making it constantly appear a bright shade of blue. This odd condition is labeled as a medical disorder, although it appeared to have no negative effects on their health, or lifespan. In fact there are records of some of the Fugate ancestors prior to Martin Fugate commonly living to be the ripe old age of 80 - 90 years old. Which was no easy feat in their day, of that we have no doubt. This medical condition (inherited trait) also gave them another odd difference. This is another one that really set them apart from their pale skinned, and red blooded American neighbors. Their blood was reported by multiple medical sources as being a chocolate brown color.
The ties to the Caucus mountains area comes with Mr. Martin Fugate’s ancestral lineage. This was originally hard to determine, because Martin himself was an orphan who migrated to America from France as a child. He settled in to Hazard Kentucky in 1820, but he new nothing about his birth parents, or where they actually came from. In 1975 there was another Fugate named Benjy, who was reportedly born purple at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, and the Dr. wanted to do a blood transfusion on him instantly. He was stopped on the spot by Benjy’s grandmother, who informed them that the boy’s great grandmother was Luna Fugate. The records show that apparently when Luna was born, she was the same bright purple color, and lived a very long healthy life. They chose not to treat him, and Benjy eventually turned blue just like many of his ancestors. Just like them we see record of him going on to live a long healthy life also.
The Doctor that found, and named the genetic abnormality that the Fugates shared called methemoglobinemia, was named by a well known, and well respected hematologist. His name was Dr. Madison Cawein III, and he also found entire tribes of Alaskan Inuits with the same blue skin trait. He knew that it was a genetic trait, and hypothesized that both the Fugates, and the Alaskan inuits had all inherited, was likely from a common source in their ancestry. Decades later, using DNA testing, we know that the Fugates likely inherited this trait from Martin Fugate through his Georgian Ancestry. The country Georgia, at the foot of “The Caucus Mountains.” Apparently Martin Fugates DNA, through his modern descendants can be traced back to Pockets of similar genetic populations, a few who still settle in modern Hungary likely in migrations, but a bulk of which come from Georgia.
The map above shows two highlighted areas, where the Fugate Blue Skin trait comes from. The area in Georgia is unironically also where Thor Heyerdahl hypothesized that Odin migrated from on his way to Norway. They would have almost certainly passed through the area of Hungary where we see the other cluster, as they were on their pilgrimage.
Georgia, Right Next To Azerbaijan.
Both the Alaskan Inuits, through the Thule people, and the Georgian lineage that Mr. Fugate share, have a common Ancestry with the Birnirk Culture of Siberia. Which brings us right back to Blue People (Jotun) in Siberia (Jotunheim) the Land of Eternal Winter.
This circles right back to Odin.
