Pagan folk have existed far longer than the little bit of time that we know as “recorded history”. There have always been tribes that lived just outside the borders of more modern cultures. Some tribes chose to live much farther outside those borders than some others. These folks are Pagan by definition. The term Pagan here has nothing to do with their religious beliefs, it refers instead to their choice of the location of the land these people chose to live on.
They worked harder in more self sustaining lifestyles, to afford the freedom of living outside of view of the tax man. Put simply, Pagans lived outside of the main towns or cities. That trend is coming back today like a tidal wave. People are buying multi acre plots of land, and starting small family tribal farming villages on them. That one was a tongue twister.
What Caused This New Trend?
Some new homesteaders say that COVID supply chain issues scared them, and they fled the cities. While another large portion cite the cost of healthy food products, and the lack of options when even trying to find them. Long story short, they chose to go find a place to grow their own. Who can blame them with the spikes in cancer and several other chronic health issues. Especially the vast array caused by constantly ingesting Glyphosate, or RoundUp. When you look at all of those statistics, starting a small farm or a homestead becomes the only logical or sane option.
Sure there are some positive steps being taken in America to rectify the slow poisoning of our entire nation, like the banning of unnatural dyes. But, is it already too late to save the generations who got the worst of it? Maybe some of Gen X and the older Millennials can afford to get out of town and buy a piece of land, but Gen Z is screwed. Most boomers are outside of the age range to safely take on such a taxing physical endeavor. I think “past their prime” is quite an appropriate term to use here.
We barely scratched the surface on the benefits of “Going Pagan,”and honestly it's a long list. For simplicity and clarity there is also the real benefit of getting a physical workout while tending your livestock, and produce. No gym memberships needed.
So, why are you Going Pagan?
Great article!
