Reclaiming Witchcraft (Druid Foxx book review)
Welcome to another edition of Druid Foxx book reviews! This month's book is Reclaiming Witchcraft.
Reclaiming Witchcraft is a book about the Reclaiming tradition or sect of modern neopagan Witchcraft. This is a sect that primarily is located in California but has members all over the world. The author begins with acknowledgement of all the folx (with an x to be inclusive) who helped her on her path and also a land acknowledgement listing the native American tribes the land she writes on purportedly used to belong to. This is a tradition that seeks to dismantle systems of oppression both inside and outside our bodies.
As far as an introduction to a particular tradition I must say this book is pretty good. It presents every aspect of the Reclaiming tradition in clear, concise language and is well researched (if having more than half your resources be books by a single author can be considered well researched). After reading it you will have a very good understanding of whether or not this tradition is the one for you.
I found this book to be politically cult like with very little of substance spiritually. Read my full review of Reclaiming Witchcraft on the Druids Den here: https://thedruidsden.wordpress.com/2025/04/07/reclaiming-witchcraft/
