Is the end nigh?
We have to ask this question, when so many people are beginning to repeat it.
Forward :
For clarity, there are many who will claim that Germanic Pagans, like the Anglo - Saxons, the Germanic Tribes, and the Norse, Swedish, and Danish Vikings, don't have a “Bible” and frankly that's bullshit. In fact, the religious text they do have covers everything from the creation, to the destruction of the apocalyptic battle of Ragnarok. In between there’s Thor, Baldur, and Loki’s tales, and a lot more. There is even a book in there that when translated is literally titled “Words of the high one,” or Odin. To anyone who really is unaware, these can be found within the Prose Edda and Poetic Edda, are the texts of our oral religious histories. They are both based on much older tomes that were compiled into one set of texts, largely by Snorri Sturluson.
The Voluspa
The poem of Voluspa “Prophesy of the Seeress,” as it's otherwise known, is found in the Poetic Edda, and pieces are in the Prose Edda. The earliest whole pieces of Voluspa actually date to the tenth century. That is almost 400 years before the books we know as the Eddas were compiled.
Voluspa may be one of the oldest, plus most read and quoted portions of the Eddas, and as I said earlier it comes from much earlier writings than either of the Eddas. The true date and history is unknown, because they were compiled from even older oral histories. The original writings were manuscripts known as the Kings book (Codex Regius), and Hauksbok. Within these earlier texts were complete versions of both Voluspa, and Havamal.
So, to get to the point.
Does Voluspa seem to indicate that the end is nigh? Well… do you want the good news, or the bad news first?
The signs indicating the end include the crowing of 3 roosters. Does this mean that once 3 regular roosters crow, the world crumbles to shit.. I think not. If that was the case, the world would have been gone long ago. What this likely signifies, is three world leaders calling for war. Now, let's look at their names and descriptions to see if anything stands out. (It does) 🫲 🧐
Fjalar, the crimson red rooster, is the Hider and Deceiver. He crows in the forest Gálgviðr, near the herdsman Eggþér.
Gullinkambi, or Golden Comb, crows to the Aesir gods in the halls of Asgard.
Hells Rooster, the “soot red” unnamed one, crows in the halls of Hel.
Many have theorized that Putin is the crimson rooster Fjalar, and his attack on Ukraine was his crowing. It fits, but in my opinion could also be Xi, of China.
The “Golden Comb” is without a doubt Donald Trump. Especially when you look at Asgard being the point from which humanity is protected. It’s parallel with America being the literal “world police”. You could look at the bombing of Yemen, or even the current civil conflict within the two parties of America as that crowing. They both fit, but the war abroad is the more likely of the two.
The third crowing in Hel, by the unnamed rooster is perhaps yet to happen. This is the one that sets the ball of doo doo rolling down the hill, metaphorically speaking of course.
Other than the roosters crowing and those signs of Ragnaroks coming, there are many more within Voluspa that parallel modern events. One in particular is a stanza that says the morals of men will essentially flip.
Stanza 45 : Brothers shall fight | and fell each other, and sisters' sons | shall kinship stain. Hard is it on earth, | with mighty whoredom;
Axe-time, sword-time, | shields are sundered,
Wind-time, wolf-time, | ere the world falls;
Nor ever shall men | each other spare.
This can be taken multiple different ways, but the most obvious meaning at least to me, in the “Brothers shall fight” this is almost certainly the middle east “Isaac vs Ishmael” where the Jewish state, and Muslim state are battling. Meanwhile, the “Christian” nations are promoting and also funding the escalation between them. The line “Hard is it on earth, with mighty whoredom” is a bit harder to place, but maybe Only fans being so prevalent in the western world. The other possibility is Western politicians, including the US Democratic party selling themselves for profit to globalists, while their country suffers.
No matter how you look at it, or how you may interprete these stanzas, that one rings true in many modern contexts.
The next stanza that sticks out, is about a big volcano going off, and the soot blocking out the sun. Then it continues describing lava raining down from the sky all around it. Described in the immediate aftermath, is global flooding under a blanket of cloud and soot.
57. The sun turns black, | earth sinks in the sea, The hot stars down | from heaven are whirled; Fierce grows the steam | and the life-feeding flame, Till fire leaps high | about heaven itself.
This could also be describing a nuclear winter, and the subsequent destruction. However for this stanza a Volcanic eruption seems to be described nearly perfectly.
So, have the roosters crowed?
At least 2 of the 3 have.
The big volcanic eruption, or possibly a nuclear winter is yet to happen.
The Silver Lining
Remember, I did say this was a situation where there was bad news / good news.
The Ragnarok isn't the end of everything, it's just the end of everything that we know as modern society. There will probably be dozens of survivors on each continent, so it won't be the end of humanity. It will however be the fresh beginning of a new cycle of humanity. Just like the multiple extinction level events of our past.
The survivors will likely be those living high in the mountains, with access to caves, or concrete structures. In other words, in America it will be the hillbillies in caves and storm shelters, and some tribal villagers living in the mountains in other areas of the world.
Just something to ponder. 🫲 😃
Keep on Rockin in the Free World.
Hail the Aesir 🤘
